馬英九總統26日夜宿陸戰66旅，27日清晨與幹部、弟兄一同進行晨間體能訓練，期望展現三軍統帥身先士卒、帶頭前進的精神，激勵官兵士氣與意志，奠定堅實戰力基礎。

馬總統26日晚間抵達桃園龜山的陸戰隊下湖營區，住在該營的連長寢室，晚餐則是一般「阿兵哥菜單」，有肉末三色玉米、芹菜炒三絲等，並未特別安排加菜。

27日清晨5時30分，營區起床號響起，稍事盥洗後，各部隊匯集至營區司令台前晨操場地，馬總統也在同時進入晨操場，與官兵們相互道早後，隨即開始暖身。

今日晨間的體能訓練，包括伏地挺身及3000公尺跑步等2項。其中，在伏地挺身項目，馬總統以標準姿勢連做40下，臉不紅、氣不喘。

隨後的3000公尺跑步，馬總統帶頭邁開步伐，由於總統長年保持跑步習慣，以大約16分鐘跑完全程。

國防部指出，馬總統晨間完成的2項體能訓練，以國軍體能鑑測標準而言，伏地挺身40下，較國軍同年齡標準20下多1倍；至於3000公尺完成時間，則比同年齡合格成績的17分40秒超前1分多鐘。

稍後，馬總統也和官兵們共進早餐，並在餐後與官兵代表合影留念，慰勉陸戰隊官兵平時戮力戰訓的辛勞，並期許他們精益求精，發揚陸戰隊「不怕苦、不怕難、不怕死」的「三不怕」精神與卓越戰力，守護國家安全。
